Invite consultants to company accounts
Choose Consultant when adding the user
Add the consultant from the same user screen used for other company users. Choose Consultant as the role, enter the consultant email address, and set the company user name, timezone, and admin sections they should have inside this company.
- Consultant email addresses are normalized to lowercase.
- The login starts with consultant_ and the typed suffix can only contain letters and digits.
- The consultant login must be unique across all CareerATS users.
Send the consultant invite
Saving the consultant creates the company consultant user and links it to the consultant account. If the consultant has not set a password yet, CareerATS sends a branded setup email with a 72-hour invite link.
- The consultant signs in with their email address, not the consultant_ company login.
- Managers do not edit the consultant password on the company user because that company user is entered through the consultant dashboard.
- If the invite expires, resend or re-invite the consultant from the user record.
Understand the consultant dashboard
After setting a password or signing in, the consultant lands on /app/dashboard. The dashboard shows each company they can access and lets them enter in the same window, a new tab, or a new window.
- Each company session uses its own secure consultant context.
- Consultants can keep multiple company tabs open at once.
- When inside a company, the top navigation shows which company account they are using.
Remove consultant access deliberately
Use the distinct Remove consultant access action when the company no longer wants the consultant to enter that account.
- Removed companies show as Removed on the consultant dashboard for 24 hours.
- Removed company cards are not clickable.
- If the consultant is currently inside the company account when access is removed, they are sent back to the dashboard with a message.
