Add the SMS connection

Open SMS setup

Create the SMS setup with the correct provider credentials, phone number, and office routing details.

  1. Use company visibility when multiple recruiters should share the same number.
  2. Confirm the provider details before saving anything live.

Check webhook and forwarding readiness

A saved number is not enough. Confirm the readiness indicators so the team does not start texting from a number that is only half configured.

  1. Check SMS webhook readiness before the number is used for real candidate conversations.
  2. Check voice forwarding if calls should be routed correctly as well.

Decide whether the number is company or personal

Use shared company numbers for team messaging and personal numbers only when the ownership model truly requires it.

  1. Shared recruiting numbers are easier to maintain and hand off.
  2. Keep the visibility model simple unless there is a strong reason not to.

Create the first SMS templates

Open SMS templates

Once the number is ready, create a short set of templates for the most common conversations so recruiters are not rewriting basic outreach from scratch.

  1. Start with interview coordination or common follow-up messages.
  2. Keep messages concise and easy to personalize.
